Industry background:
Aluminum alloy wheels can be divided into two categories based on their manufacturing methods: casting and forging. Casting can also be divided into gravity casting and low-pressure casting. Due to the high price of forged wheels and the limited design process, the styles are relatively limited, so they are not commonly seen in China. At present, the mainstream replacement wheels in China are mainly cast wheels.Gravity casting is the process of pouring liquid alloys into a mold and cooling them into shape. Due to the simple manufacturing process and the durability of the mold, it has become the lowest cost manufacturing method. Low pressure manufacturing involves using minimal pressure to press liquid alloys into the mold, resulting in an even distribution of molecules, fewer sand holes, and a more complex and refined shape.Low pressure casting has the following advantages compared to gravity casting:*The dynamic balance and true roundness performance of the wheel rim are excellent, and the dynamic balance performance of the inner and outer wheel diameters below 30g is much lower than traditional gravity casting method. The data performance of traditional gravity casting is 45g-60g or above, which makes the vehicle smoother and more stable during driving.*By evenly conveying the pressure into the wheel mold, the internal organization of the wheel can be more dense, greatly improving safety. Generally, traditional gravity casting does not require any pressure delivery, and the structure of the wheels is relatively loose.*The low-pressure casting method uses low-pressure feeding to greatly enhance the strength of the wheel rim.*The pressure conveying system of low-pressure casting is not affected by environmental and weather changes, and can produce high-quality and stable products throughout the year. Generally, traditional gravity casting is easily affected by climate and temperature and humidity.
